So you cheated on the keto diet and now you've come here to find out how you can restart huh?
Well I've got some good news and some not so good news for you…
The Good News
Well the good news is… You're HUMAN!
It happens to the best of us!
Yes… it's even happened to me!!!
So don't give up just because you slipped up!
Tomorrow is another day so make the commitment to start anew and guess what… everything will be OK.
Well sorta. Let's talk about that commitment part.
The Bad News (Well Sorta)
Well it's going to take you a tiny bit of work to get back on track.
Hell! Let's be real here! It's going to take a LOT of work! Who am I kidding!
See… here's what I've learned about making “new or renewed” commitments…
The first day is EASY!
The second day is HARD.
The third day is even HARDER.
Did you know that it takes TWENTY-ONE days before what you're doing becomes a HABIT?
And to actually take it a step further….
It takes SIXTY-SIX days before that new habit actually becomes automatic!
That's right… 66 DAYS!!!
So it doesn't matter if you've been doing something for YEARS… if you stop doing (like going off the keto diet for example) and start over again guess what???
It will take you anywhere from 3 – 9 weeks to get reacquainted with what you “use to do” and then automatically make that habit part of your daily routine!
So now that you have that information, let's talk about some simple ways for you to turn the keto diet into your keto lifestyle!

Plan Ahead
While I'm a huge fan of trying out every keto and low carb recipe that comes out, I also believe in keeping things simple.
Especially when you're just getting started or need to get back on track!
That's why I always keep a list of recipes available that I can prep and cook in less than 30 minutes.
And if I'm really pressed for time, or simply don't feel like putting together a list of ingredients.
So I just go to phone and use the app and let the meal planning service pick all of my meals, create my shopping list and basically tell me what to buy and when to prep it!
Another thing that I do is make sure that I have foods that are keto friendly in my house at all times!
I probably should have made this my first thing that I mentioned because it's soooo very important but the reality is… you need to keep foods that you can always create a quick meal from. Especially ones that contain some type of FAT!
Oh and while I'm at it. Make sure you're getting enough fat!
Most women don't get enough fat when they're doing keto and it's one of the reasons why they don't stay in ketosis and end up cheating! Sound familiar?
I know it sounds like I'm just rambling here but these are things you will need to do on a daily basis until it becomes second nature to you.
So we've covered cooking healthy, keeping keto approved foods in the house on and one last thing… exercising!
Why Exercising Is Good For You
If you want really focus on living the keto lifestyle then you need to commit to doing some form of exercise.
Not only does exercising help you firm up and lose weight. But it will also help you curb your appetite and keep down your cravings!
Besides… if you are going to spend the next sixty-six days working on committing to your eating habits why not work on committing to your exercise habits too?
You know… kill two birds with one stone! (I've always hated that saying!)

Christine
Thx for this post Pam! I have been doing keto for 1.5 years and have never gone off this woe until this past weekend for my 50th birthday. I tried yesterday and today to “restart” and failed. But reading your post reminds me that I have the tools, the knowledge, and the ability to make a commitment and stick with it! So, thx again!

Hey Christine! Well first – Happy Belated Birthday! Turning 50 is quite the milestone so I hope you enjoyed celebrating! And you will find that for most post I write even though I am writing to you, I am actually speaking for ME!!!
Sometimes we can have all the tools and resources we need yet and YEARS of experience knowing what to do with them yet still… we have a hard time getting back on track and using them! So trust me when I say you are not alone on your journey! I have struggled with you and think at some point in my life, will again because I am human and therefore fallible!
However one thing I know for certain is that we can always make the commitment and restart if ever we fall off again because everything we need is already inside us to succeed!!!
xoxo
